Exploring Mudras: Small Gestures, Big Impact

Exploring Mudras: Small Gestures, Big Impact

If you’ve noticed instructors or students holding their hands in specific ways, you’ve seen Mudras. These "seals" or gestures are used to direct the flow of energy in the body. While the 26+2 series primarily uses a "ten-finger interlocked grip," our Vinyasa and meditation sessions often explore these subtle tools.

Gyan Mudra for Focus

Touching the tip of the index finger to the thumb is the most common mudra. It is used to improve concentration and sharpen the memory—perfect for when you need to focus before a big presentation or a challenging class.

Anjali Mudra for Gratitude

Bringing the palms together at the heart center (Prayer Pose) symbolizes the union of the left and right hemispheres of the brain. It is a gesture of balance and a way to seal your practice with gratitude for your "Tribe."
