Yoga for Better Sleep: Poses for the Night Owl
Yoga for Better Sleep: Poses for the Night Owl
Brooklyn never sleeps, but you should. If you find yourself staring at the ceiling after a long day, a regular practice at Yoga Tribe Brooklyn might be the cure for your insomnia.
Why the Heat Helps You Sleep
While it seems counterintuitive that a "hot" workout helps you sleep, it’s all about the cool-down. After you leave our heated room, your body temperature begins to drop. This rapid cooling signals to your brain that it is time to produce melatonin, the hormone responsible for sleep.
Floor Series for Relaxation
The second half of our class—the floor series—is particularly beneficial for the nervous system. Postures like Wind Removing Pose and Cobra Pose stimulate the digestive system and soothe the adrenal glands. Many students report that on the days they practice at YTB, they experience their deepest, most restorative sleep.
